چکیده

We study iterated function systems (IFSs) of contractive similitudes on Rd with overlaps. We introduce a generalized finite type condition which extends a more restrictive condition in [S.-M. Ngai, Y. Wang, Hausdorff dimension of self-similar sets with overlaps, J. London Math. Soc. (2) 63 (3) (2001) 655–672] and allows us to include some IFSs of contractive similitudes whose contraction ratios are not exponentially commensurable. We show that the generalized finite type condition implies the weak separation property. Under this condition, we can identify the attractor of the IFS with that of a graph-directed IFS, and by modifying a setup of Mauldin and Williams [R.D. Mauldin, S.C. Williams, Hausdorff dimension in graph directed constructions, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 309 (1988) 811–829], we can compute the Hausdorff dimension of the attractor in terms of the spectral radius of certain weighted incidence matrix. © 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. Separation conditions for conformal iterated function systems

Weextend both theweak separation condition and the finite type condition to include finite iterated function systems (IFSs) of injective C1 conformal contractions on compact subsets of Rd . For conformal IFSs satisfying the bounded distortion property, we prove that the finite type condition implies the weak separation condition. By assuming the weak separation condition, we prove that the Haus...

Rotation number and its properties for iterated function and non-autonomous systems

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce the rotation number for non-autonomous and iterated function systems. First, we define iterated function systems and the lift of these types of systems on the unit circle. In the following, we define the rotation number and investigate the conditions of existence and uniqueness of this number for our systems. Then, the notions rotational entropy an...

Chaotic property for non-autonomous iterated function system

In this paper, the new concept of non-autonomous iterated function system is introduced and also shown that non-autonomous iterated function system IFS(f_(1,∞)^0,f_(1,∞)^1) is topologically transitive for the metric space of X whenever the system has average shadowing property and its minimal points on X are dense. Moreover, such a system is topologically transitive, whenever, there is a point ...

Separation Properties for Graph-Directed Self-Similar Fractals

Examples of “separation properties” for iterated function systems of similitudes include: the open set condition, the weak separation property, finite type. Alternate descriptions for these properties and relations among these properties have been worked out. Here we consider the same situation for “graph-directed” iterated function systems, and provide the definitions and proofs for that setti...
